Grand Master Bong-chun Lee wins the Seo’am Traditional Culture Award

December 22, 2011. The Seo’am Cultural Foundation, a Hwacheon Group affiliate, has nominated Master Bong-chun Lee, a national intangible cultural asset, as the winner of the first Seo’am Traditional Culture Award, for his active role in the recreation and restoration project of traditional Korean string instruments. Grand Master Lee was awarded with the medal as well as the prize, and with the acceptance of the award the Seo’am Cultural Foundation has pledged to support his research and activities.

Korea CEO Association (“KCEOA”) has nominated Samsung Heavy Industries, S-Oil, Incheon International Airport Corp., Hwacheon among the 13 companies as the winners of this year’s Korea’s Best Company Grand Prize. Hosted by KCEOA and sponsored by Korea Economic Daily and the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the award was designed ten years ago to promote creative and good business practice, and this year’s tenth anniversary award ceremony was held at Westin Chosun Hotel in downtown Seoul

December 16, 2010. “Korea’s first manual lathe system design and its production layout” by Hwacheon was selected by the National Academy of Engineering of Korea (“NAEK”) and was given the “Korea’s Top 100 Technologies and the Leaders” award. The award ceremony was held at 6 PM Seoul Standard Time, at the Hotel Shilla Seoul.
